Our Personal Pledge to
you Top
 |
You will be treated
as an individual and
will be treated with
courtesy and respect
at all times, irrespective
of your ethnic origin,
religious belief, personal
attributes or nature
of your health problem.
|
 |
We will listen to
your problems and give
you enough time to express
your concerns. |
 |
If you need more time
after the consultation
we will arrange another
appointment for you. |
 |
No care or treatment
will be given without
your informed consent. |
 |
Your personal information
will be treated in full
confidence. |
 |
Our
staff will wear name
badges and will give
you their name when
contacted. |
 |
We will ensure our
surgery is warm, welcoming,
clean and tidy. |
Appointments Top
Our surgery operates an appointment system for all its surgeries. Our doctors give 10 minute appointment times per patient. This is above the national average and helps us to give you a more thorough and personalised consultation.
 |
If
your problem is urgent
you will be seen within
the same day. |
 |
If
your condition is not
urgent you will be seen
within three working
days. |
 |
If
you wish to see a specific
doctor you will be given
an appointment with
the doctor of your choice
within four days (excepting
when that doctor is
taking a holiday). |
| Please
help us to maintain
these standards by: |
| a. |
Keeping
your appointments. |
| b. |
Cancelling
an appointment in good
time to allow your appointment
to be given to someone
else. |
| c. |
If
you request an urgent
appointment please ask
yourself, "Can
this problem wait until
tomorrow?". |
Although we try our
best, it is not always
possible, owing to the nature
of general practice, to
see every patient at their
appointed time.
 |
Our
aim is to see every
patient within half
an hour of their appointed
time. |
 |
Please
be patient if you are
kept waiting. The doctor
will be working as quickly
as possible and the
patient ahead of you
may need extra time.
|
 |
Remember,
it could be you or one
of your family. |
Home Visits Top
Our doctors and district
nurses frequently visit
patients at home. This takes
on average three times as
long as seeing someone in
the surgery, and may result
in the doctor being late
to start surgery or very
occasionally being called
away to an emergency during
surgery hours.
 |
Our
aim is that a doctor
will visit you within
three hours after the
end of surgery. |
| Please
help us by: |
| a. |
Only
requesting a visit if
you are too ill to attend
surgery or if no friend
/ relative can bring
you to surgery. |
| b. |
Making
requests for a visit
before 10.30am so we
may arrange our calls
in order of urgency. |
Emergency out of Hours
Advice and Visits Top

Telephone Service Top
 |
We
will try to respond
to your calls as efficiently
as possible. |
 |
Our
aim is that our receptionist
will pick up the telephone
within six rings. |
 |
If
you wish to speak to
a doctor or nurse personally
please ring between
11.00 and 11.30am after
morning surgery. If
busy, the doctor or
nurse will return your
call at their earliest
convenience. |
